Patience and Perseverance.
It is an amazing when they do what we want them to do, without a "fight"
Freddie is going to test you from time to time, keep being firm, showing him who the boss is.
Sure Freddie is happy to be staying as well.
Keep up the great work.

It is amazing what a difference the clipping has made. :D It's not just with the biting, but with his overall attitude. He's no longer into everything, which means he can be out most of the day. I won't be leaving him unattended, but he's not flying and getting into eveything, and then refusing to step up. Life is so much easier. At least I can look away for 2 minutes! LOL!

I am very, very glad you decided to keep him! I would not be too sure about his long term acceptance of you as 'the boss' but who knows? Your bird might just be the exception to the rule.

I have no delusions or need, really, to be the boss. I do need to be able to coexist with him as part of the family. I'm hoping we will respect each other. He'll have choices, in most things. I'll get to keep all my digits and most of my flesh still attached!LOL! That's a fair deal!;)

Well done Sharon

I agree with you 100% .... they are like children and you don't get a child growing into a well adjusted adult but dominating them & "being the boss" but by guiding them and showing them boundaries and as you said teaching them how to co-exist. Keep up the fantastic work :D
