@Birdman - Thanks Mark, whew, looks like a good sign then! My older boy Robin who has never been socialized with a birdie friend when young, is extremely territorial over his cage (to other birds) so I can see he has claimed it as HIS exclusive territory. When I had other birds as friends in the past, I never let them into each other's cages, so this is really a first for me. What is your take on the size difference concern (next paragraph below)?

@Kiwibird - Thanks April. That's good to hear about Lucy and Barney's dynamic. 40 years bonded wow, like an old married couple lol. My biggest concern with Raven and Griffin was the size difference, but like you say, they should know how to not to injure their perceived mate or friend. I'm hoping anyway, that Raven instinctively "knows" how much smaller and more delicate Griffin is when they squabble. I'm keeping a good eye out right now, but hopefully they will be like Lucy and Barney one day :)

@Frumpydumple - I thought the same thing too Emily (Raven's facial expression) haha:D

My take on the size difference?!

Lila is a lilac crowned amazon weighing all of about 350 grams.
Maggie is a Bolivian Greenwing weighing 1850 grams.

So, every time Lila grabs Maggie's tail, she's giving away about 1500 grams, and a significant tonnage of bite pressure.

Put another way, in a fit of jealous rage, Woody, my shamrock PICKED SALLY UP BY THE WING, AND LITERALLY FLUNG HER ACROSS THE ROOM!

(This is why Woody is no longer with us, and was placed elsewhere... )

Wow poor Sally . But do you think it'll be okay if Raven at 225g got angry at Griffin at maybe 125g? Not as bad as a Budgie and an Amazon?

A little OT but Zoe flew onto Sydney's cage yesterday and he started biting her tail while she just looked at him like he was crazy. I was running to get her before she chomped him.
