- Meisha: Umbrella Cockatoo | Female | 03/09/1989 Hatch Date
I’m Don from Texas, visited and joined your forum out of curiosity.
Been active with birds most of my life. Childhood and adolescent years were influenced with the caring of orphaned and injured domestic birds. The collection grew to as many as fifteen at a time, which included sparrows, cardinals, sandpipers and blue jays. My sister and I nursed and released what we could. With passing’s and releases we eventually closed the out project. I acquired two albino parakeets as a late teen.
In 1989 I frequently visited a pet shop with Parrots. Consulting management I acquired a few parrots individually for several days to make an experienced decision. The right choice was an eight-month old Umbrella I named Meisha. Though her flight feathers were clipped, she was flying the following year.
Meisha goes to work with me daily, with exceptions. I redesigned my company logo with the inclusion of an illustration in her image. Communicating with my landlord prior to the acquisition, I edited my business lease agreement to allow the unusual addition.
Receiving client requests for her appearance and coupled with daily life, she has been to numerous businesses that includes car dealerships, churches, public conference centers, group meetings, outdoor events, high-rises, retail stores, police and fire departments.
