We went and picked up a green cheek last night, the girl that had her only had cockatiels and she had been dropped off with her not long ago. Well I guess now the conure only likes cockatiel seed mix. I tried giving her some Harrisons and other non seed treats, but she only wants to eat seeds. What brand of food do you feed your green cheek? What else can I offer to her? I know just seeds is not good. Other than the Harrisons, Iv tried apple, orange, banana, grapes, raddish, red peppers, and green beans. Nothing..

Mix the harrisons in with the seed do like half and half, also fed fruit and vegies, my guys love apples, pears. It takes time its def not something that changes over nite.

Its gonna sound like im advertiseing because i tell everyone, but i feed my suns the bird paradise ultimete blend it is a mixture of pellets, fruits, vegies and spices its from a place called bird paradise in berlington,nj: Paradise Small Bird Ultimate Blend (Benji Blend) - BIRD PARADISE BLENDS by Bird Paradise
It is a little expensive and i buy 10lbs at a time and in my opinion is the best for all conures, i still give them fresh fruit and vegies rice. The other thing you need to know is yes its good to give your bird the best it can get but you also have to take the price into consideration( Anyone in general i mean) The special diets are expensive and if you were for some reason unable to switch your birds diet i think if you were to give extra stuff as you mentioned you would be ok. I hope this helps, I was pretty much in the same position 2 years ago and found my answer on here also. I bought my 2nd sun there tues and the ultimate blend is what they feed all birds.

I could not get my BCC to eat Harrison's, but I did get her to try the Zupreem fruit blend with all the colors. And once I got her to taste it, I started reducing seeds and adding more pellets little by little until I knew I could give her just the pellets. Now Pete was the opposite and wouldn't try the Zupreem but did try the Harrison's so I converted him to that. It can take a long time to get them to try new foods. Sometimes it helps to let them see you eat it. Eat the fruit and veggies in front of them and make yum yum sounds, and then offer the bird a piece. It might work with the pellets, too. Rowdy will eat anything she sees me eat first. My BCC though was a lot more skeptical, lol!
