Duckie -( passed ) 1.5yrs Yellow-sided GCC

Eden- 14/8/2017 High-red pineapple conure

Indi- 12/11/2017 White bellied caique

Asher- 15/1/2018 - Black capped conure

Wolfie- 21/10/2017- Alexandrine
After losing my Gcc,Duckie. My other conure his cage mate, Eden has change a whole lot in personality even though he is still a grumpy old man ( though he's not even one yet, he acts like it)

Since Eden has been with another bird he's life with me, should i get him another cage mate or leave it, I'm currently not ready for another GCC as I'm still devastated with the loss of Duckie. I'm just thinking for the future of my GCC, When I feel like the both of us are ready I'm considering getting another male for him, what are your guys thoughts?

The thing with Duckie is that, he was such a bipolar and aggressive bird when i first got him it took me almost a year just to get him to step up on my finger, I want another bird like that, I want, i would not call it a challenge but a way to help a bird to trust, thats what i want again. I was thinking of getting a re-home bird, one thats in a bad situation or the owners just don't have enough time for it,
again what are your thoughts on that?

That sounds wonderful! You're amazing for considering to save a bird. I would like to bring to your attention that you should never get a new bird and just put it in your bird's cage. It can be really dangerous as they may fight and could really hurt each other. My 2 conures get along but have a nip at each other now and then and I'd never leave them unsupervised. Also please consider the size of your new bird since you don't want another conure. If it's much bigger that Ducky then they should never be housed together.

Eden is only a green cheek conure, I would never ever do anything to him to jeopardise his life, Duckie(also a green cheek conure) and Eden were the same as your two but got along very well, if i were to get Eden another cage mate they would be introduced slowly and carefully and if they did not get along then they will just be separated.

Well then I think it's a wonderful idea!

I would say it is an idea but if and only when you feel it's right. Eden will do fine with you around so don't worry about him for now. Focus on pulling yourself together
