Getting a green cheek!!!

Yes Monicamc but I saw that it is fit as a flight cage for Parakeets and finches. Green cheeks are bigger and stronger so I will get that one listed above probably. Either that or model 124

I have kept cockatiels, lovebirds, and now my GCC in that flight cage I showed you and never had any problems. In fact, that flight cage I showed you is the ONLY cage we tried that the lovebirds didn't escape from. Peeko cant get out of that cage, period. He's tried his hardest. I wouldn't worry about it - the only thing you need to do is wire the six side doors closed. It honestly isn't much work at all, and you're getting an amazing cage for a low price, which will help a lot considering toys and perches are expensive.

I might as well get it. It is only 30 bucks more then I was going to pay for a WAY smaller cage.

At peeko how do u wire it closed?

At peeko how do u wire it closed?

Get some pieces of wire and twist them around the door bar and the closest cage bar next to it so that it cant open (but it can be sharp and unsafe). That, or put a screw between the bars, a washer on either side of the screw, and a bolt on the outside of one of the washers. Its much easier than it sounds - its basically the same method that you use to attach perches to the cage, except without the perch. It took me all of five minutes total to do that with all six of the side doors.

at Peeko does it have to be wire? If not then what can I use? I was thinking string then I thought waaait a minute how is string going to stand against that strong beak?

The washer/screw/bolt method is safer and works better. Their beaks would definitely make quick work of the string, and I would be afraid of them ingesting it too.

Also, just another thought since you are trying to save money...how important is it for you to DNA test your bird? At least you don't have to right away. I originally thought I would...but now I cant imagine calling him a her if I found out differently...and he doesnt care :)

Got Lucky?? on my bird, Was always curious (at least for a while) about what sex she was. Tell one year she laid an egg :D (Answered the question on its own)

Congrats on getting a Green Cheek, lovely birds, they can be a bit strange at times depending on the bird. Mine for example Won't fly (Unless something startles it) or they Must (Example if after being startled they need to get down from the ceiling perch)
