Ok so my female gcc has never done mind tricks before so I figured I would start. I was playing on the comupter and came across a male and female eclectus. I showed her which was green and which was red, and I asked her which was red and she tapped the picture of the red one! I have been doing this with different floors for ten minutes and she hasn't gotten one wrong! I even showed her red and pink, asked her which was pink and she chose it!
She is only three and is so smart!

O my gosh I just showed her a ball and a bell, and asked which is the bell and she picked it! I also showed her a ball and hook, and asked which is a hook and she picked it!
I'm so proud of her.

How great is that! You should read "Alex & Me", about Dr. Pepperburg's experiments with an African Grey Parrot and things like recognition, counting, and problem solving. A good book about parrot intelligence.

She is truly a smart bird. I do not think we give our birds enough credit for their brain power sometimes.

That's awesome! My mom just read a book about a grey that they were training for science. When he didn't want to ID the colors, he would say every color BUT the real color! LOL

Oh, it's the one that BillsBirds just mentioned. :)

She is also in breeding mode right now so when I put her back on her cage while I am feeding her babies she immediately went to the box with her boyfriend and...well you know.
