full time working single parronts, how do you do it?

you're not wrong! I've only had the pleasure of handling a pair of goffin's (through the cage, which I shouldn't have done but oh well!) and whilst very friendly they are definitely not for me.

I guess now comes the narrowing down of what species I like the idea of!

LOL
If you are a working person, look into which birds are most independent etc. I am sure you thought of this already..but..just thought I'd say it anyway.

I would also posit that certain species are perhaps even more suited to full time work than others (see: cockatoo). Male ekkies are pretty independent daydreamers who are largely content to chill out all day. They don’t call them the stoners of the parrot world for nothing.

it doesn’t all have to be undivided attention. For a lot of bird, simply being around you while you are otherwise engaged is more than enough for at least half the together time.

Absolutely true. Bumble is generally happy to sit on my shoulder and fly back and forth between gym/cage/boing so long as I'm there with her. When she DOES require my undivided attention, she makes it very clear and then she gets it. I'm so excited to see what develops for you!!

Triggs I'm in the same boat. When I'm at home enzo has my undivided attention in general and she seems really content.. so make sure the time with the bird is quality time. Don't beat yourself up mate. You have to have a life else I'm sure you will start resenting your fid

As said above, quality time may well be being in the same room and replying to calls etc, sharing healthy meals/snacks and generally doing the flock thing. One thing enzo demands is cuddles and scratches before bed else she wakes up grumpy lol
