Might work not sure.

How about one of those things you use for Skeet shooting ? Would work I think .

^^^^

WHAT is wrong with me??? The visual I'm having is QUITE disturbing.

You mean the one where you use a handfull of tail feathers, to pull the rubber band back and then WHOOSH.... off he goes?!
GAAACCKKK-AACCCK!

THE BLUE AND GOLD EAGLE FLIES AGAIN!

Yeah, sometimes you just gotta push 'em a little... Go BB! Go BB! It's your birthday...

Shame this house is so small though. Woulda worked much better if that big wall wasn't in the way.

That sick and twisted image?!

I blame you.

The slingshot was your idea...

I WAS GONNA MAKE A CATAPLUT PERCH...

Here you go BB, we're just going to set you down right here... SPROING!!!

Now I would line the walls with the couch cushions . Give me some credit.

Hey thought about something. I could tie a lot of helium balloons to him so he will not crash just float down

Or one of those automatic baseball pitching machines.

Or, if you just made the tube a little bigger, how about one of those Tennis ball cannon launchers...

You could stand at the other end, fire the cannon, and teach BB to fly to you!

HMMM... Ideas like this, and padded rooms... Coincidence?!

I'm just sayin'... :54:

You could use them as "training wheels."

Then when he gets the hang of flying, you just take a BB gun and pop them.... "Lawn Chair Larry" style. :D

Take your bird to the gun range day... HMMM... has somebody been extra naughty lately?!

"Yeah, not only will you learn to fly, but you'll learn to fly in a zig zag pattern!"

I'VE GOT IT!

Two words: BIRDIE ZIPLINE!

Hook his beak and let him RIDE

I'm picturing more of a harness device that would encourage him to flap...

Hanging by his beak he'd probably do more kicking than flapping....

I still like the modified tennis ball cannon idea...

Of course, you'd probably have to wear something like a baseball catcher's equipment. FIRE IN THE HOLE...

FROM FLYING ROCK TO FASTEST BIG MAC ALIVE...

Well, at least we HOPE he's still alive. Hasn't been tested yet...

:32:It's amazing how simple it is to amuse yourself sometimes, eh?! :32:

Christine, Poppy has the same problem as BB. She's about ten. I don't think she ever fledged, her previous owners kept her wings clipped for her first eight years. We've never clipped her wings, there's no physical reason she can't fly, but she doesn't. She flaps like crazy and she will occasionally glide like a rock to get to the floor so she can run to her cage, she only does it when she's tired of waiting for a ride from a human. She will flap on my arm but I think she's playing more than practicing. I keep hoping though. If BB gets the hang of it, please share the joy.

If all else fails including the paper airplane and slingshot methods, maybe I'll try Mark's launcher, but I think I'll use this one so the dogs can get in on it too.

Why am I picturing a dog in a frap hat, with goggles, and a strap on wing, sitting in a catapult...

Oh sure, he's wagging his tail now... just give it a second!

The way things have gone tonight I WISH mine weren't flighted! Four out of six are fully flighted at the moment, and acting up to the Nth degree tonight.

My buttons have officially been pushed!

I really think that is his issue. He just does not know how.
Will keep working at
Better to laugh then cry LOL

Just be careful the dogs know WHICH is being launched out of the cannon...
We'd hate for fido to snatch your bird out of mid-air...
Whoops... sorry. That one wasn't my ball...

FYI CHRISTINE - Maggie is fully flighted, and recalled. I took her and Sally out freeflying the other day. Sally was all over the park, doing laps. Maggie took the opportunity to settle in on my lap, and stay there for some extra 1 on 1 and cuddle time.

"I can. I just don't want to..."

In fact, the times Maggie has flown?

Well, there was the time she was tired of being in the tree, and wanted to come down to my lap...

And there was the time she was sitting on top of her cage, and I wasn't picking her up fast enough, and she wanted to be on my lap...

And there was the time she was being goofy with Sarah and wanted to chase her around the room, so she flew down to the floor... and they ran around the couch.

And there was the time Sarah was sitting on the floor doing something, and Maggie wanted to be in the Middle of it...

Other than that, pretty much NOT. She does a lot more waddling than flying. So I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Oh, and Sweepea is an expert flyer...

YOU KNOW WHEN? When I turn on the water in the sink... (i.e. last night.)

Or when Maggie's eating out of one dish, and she wants to steal her treats out of the other dish before I can shoo her off... (this morning.)

Or when she wants to pull a "sneaky" on one of the other birds, and get "flanking" position for a tail pulling contest... (Usually Tusk!)
