Oh, and it's the first time in three och four years he talks.

He is getting very comfortable with you! :D

Awww that's great :) I'm a new Parrot owner so I'm still learning but I've read they do talk when they are comfortable with you like stated above :)

Keep doing what your doing because you Parrot seems to appreciate it :) Good job x

Very nice!

This is only me....my advice, start conversational things and use them in context.....when your petting and kissing and cuddling say "i love you" and do kissy "clicks" when you want him to come or he is calling to you say "come on" Ore whatever those words are in your native language.

My little conure uses both in context and he's almost got "what are you doing" and has the full range of happy grunts and grrrrr grunts, which are also in context.....for a male of any species.

He never says "I love you" when we are playing chase on the floor or "come on" when it's cuddle time.

Great job Ebbe! He's very clear, Ebbe has excellent talking potential!

so cool, i remember Lily's first words.
sound's like your's don't want to be considered a Temp
looks like you have been picked.
have fun

"C'mon..C'mon" are words always used in context with little Beebs..when I put my fingers in his house to step up,I don't even have to say those words to him,he comes right out with them. Or if he is walking/running from the living room to this room I hear his little voice.."c'mon..c'mon".. he knows when and where to use them.

Oh you guys!
I was so happy about this and told my human friends, but they don't really understand what all the excitement is about. I think they are kind of tired of me constantly talking about Ebbe :p

Clark_conure - I am! He says "mmm" when he eats something he likes and sometimes makes this noise that sounds like "wow", which I use when he does something good during training. It's absolutely adorable.

davefv92c - I really would have loved to keep him if he was mine and I had a more certain future.

I hope you can get "visitation" rights! It would be so terrible for Ebbe not having to see you! You are bringing out so much in him and he is thriving from all of this.
And don't worry about "bragging" to us! WE know how it is! And we can't help but brag about our fids accomplishments.
We never get tired of listening,OR looking at pictures! ( hint hint!) :p

Congratulations!
Yep, we parrot people GET what it means!
The Rbird was already talking as a barely-weaned chick, according to the seller, but I never heard a word. Then on the way home, he screamed out "HELLO!!!"
I almost drove off the road!

I hope so too! Otherwise I'll stand outside the window staring in until she's too uncomfortable not to let me in.

If all else fails, isn't there a way you can figure out to be adopted by Ebbe??
Just look how far the two of you came,in just a few short weeks.
And look at all of the new FRIENDS the two of you made, half way around the world! :D

I'm sorry lol I don't want you to think I'm being pesky lol. I am sure you have been thinking everything out yourself....it's just that the two of you really hit it off so quickly and he has settled in nicely with you,and for a lot of folks sometimes that takes a lot of time, and at times, sometimes that never really happens.

Be proud of yourself in what you have accomplished so far with the green guy.

AmyMyBlueFront - I'm not sure. The owner is not really...all there. If you know what I mean.
Your kind words really means a lot and I'm very touched.
One of my biggest fears is to take responsibility for an animal and not being able to care for it in the proper way. I even have nightmares about it :p
I guess it's the feeling of them not choosing to be here, but are forced to, which means you owe it to them to make their life as good as you possibly can.

It makes me happy to hear that I've done a good job and that he seems happy and it actually makes me very proud :)

You'd fit right in! you are doing great with Ebbe!

Florem I know situations change and your just a student and don't know where life will lead you, but from what I can tell you'd be perfect as a permanent pet to your amazon.
