When is a good age to give a first shower? Tilly is nearly completely feathered... and on two to three hand-feedings a day. I also have a warm room and a heat lamp to keep him warm if he gets wet... would it be okay to try his first bath? His feathers are all messy and I figured starting him now will make it easier. Any advice? Will he chill still, even though he's feathered? Should I wait until he weans?

Thanks!

Tilly is gorgeous!!

I have a GW and the store said to
wait until she was weaned. She actually ran in the shower with me one day a bit before she weaned and she was fine.

Well, if she's feathered, I don't see the harm in it.

I've bathed birds I was hand feeding when they got crap all over their feathers. It's better than leaving them dirty in my opinion.

What I would do is a bath and a birdie blow dry. Holding the blow dryer at it's lowest setting about an arms length from the bird.
