6 more sleeps! :D Awesome news!! You wait, as the number gets smaller, you just 'may' have trouble sleeping and/or concentrating on anything other than your pretty Bella. :54:

Hi guys! So i went to visit her today. Her siblings all went home! she was the only one left! I wish I could bring her home today T_T, Anyways I think she was pretty sad that her sisters went home... ( turns out to be all girls) When I saw her and tried to get her out of her cage she was so scared =[ She calmed down a bit after calming her down with my voice and then a bunch of little kids came and one of them wanted to touch bella but bella is not a big fan of being touch.. She would let you touch her wings and back but is not a big fan of being touch on the head at all! But for some reason today she was especially moody... she would squawk when i hand was near her or when i try to pet her she squawks and runs away to my shoulder. ANYWAYS this little kid walks up to bella with out asking and slaps her on the back because he wanted to touch her but was scared. I was shocked.. ... When the kid try to do it again I had to tell him to be carefull.. there was so many kids there I had to move to another area because i felt that she was scared..

GOOD THING i moved to another area because she calmed down a bit.

MY QUESTION for you all is that when she squawks with the sight of my hand or fingers near her should I pursue in petting her or should I leave her alone? She seems fine on my finger but when my fingers go near her she squawks.. She usually isnt like that but I thnk its because she is upset that her sisters are gone and there was a lot of kids....

I hope she will eventually warm up to me and allow me to scratch her head... because she dodges my finger all the time when I to pet her head >=[

Oh wow, what a traumatic experience with the kids in the store. How old were they, and where were the parents? I'm fairly certain the little one didn't mean to actually slap Bella on her back, but I know I would have had to say something - 'not so nice' - right then and there.

Joyce, both my Amazons are quite vocal. They have to have the last word. Hunter grumbles even while I remove her from the cage. She is very 'outspoken', so while playing with her, or snuggling, or patting, she has to have a 'say'. Sam is even worse than her. Sometimes he sounds as if he's being abused, when in reality he's LOVING the affection. :D

Keep on at it with Bella. I'm sure in time she will learn to enjoy a head scratch, especially once she figures out how good it will make her feel. :)

Apparently those kids (4-6?) parents were busy looking at a baby macaw and I'm sure he didn't mean to slap Bella, but she was frighten by that.. Also there was another kid that was with his baby sitter and he asked if he can touch her before I answered he kissed Bella on the back and than he touched her tail. I guess I'm an over protective mom because I was scared he was going to pull her tail ! And since Bella is a baby I don't know how she will act so I was also afraid that she might bite him
... But I think the parents and that nanny needs to watch their kids more carefully because they were putting their fingers in the bird cage .. Not a good idea

Very exciting! Do you feel like you are ready?

Baxter has been home for over a month now and I'm STILL getting all his stuff set up - LOL! I just finished setting up his upstairs play stand this afternoon!

And, he is still in a temporary cage!

Can't wait to see pictures of Bella at home!

According to my schedule it says we wil get off at 5:30 it takes me 25 min to get to the pet store I hope I make it there on time since they close at 6.....

I have her cage set up in her room as well as her huge play stand ! I just spent $100 buying more toys for her on king cages website so she has more toys to play with and back up toys for when she demolishes her old toys hahah. I have another play stand ready for her in the living room !

I hope j am ready ! I'm excited yet nervous at the same time hahaha

Could you call the petstore and tell them your plan to come straight after work? They may be willing (if they know you are coming in advance) to stay a little later for you:) We did that once when Kiwi's old cage collapsed and we needed a new one ASAP. The bird store was very understanding and stayed open for us so we could make it after work (only ended up being like 15 minutes later for them, but we were super appreciative that he didn't have to live in his old travel cage tip the weekend!).

Sounds like she will come home and be thoroughly spoiled:D

I called in today... The store owner said that he is not working there friday and normally his employees tend to want to leave on time since its a friday... I will try again on friday and ask the employees! Cross my fingers!!

That sounds like bs... I can't imagine Any store owner that won't say "yes so and so will wait an extra 30 min to make sure you get to take your baby home". Not like the employee won't be getting paid.

Hoping it works out for you!
