Where do your fids hang out all day?
I was looking to making a play gym and I wanted to see some of your guys set ups!

Three of my Goffins hang out together uncaged in a room with Timneh AG. The species never directly socialize but observe each other without hostility. Once in a while one will fly to the same stand or cage and keep a respectful distance. The three Goffins often stand near each other and sleep at night on same stand. Sometimes the youngest will spend time by himself. On occasion they will fly around a bit and sometimes forage for dropped pellets on the floor.

Consuela, my QP, hangs out all day long. With ME. She micro-manages EVERYTHING that I do. She don't need no stinkin' play gym! I talk to her about everything, politics, sports, you name it. One of the Astros (Go 'Stros!) hits a homerun, or they turn a double play, or the Texans score a touchdown, I get all excited and we "high five" etc. [Guess where I live?] Oh, yes, she has toys, chew toys, toys with bells, and an orange plastic practice golf ball with a ball in it. She brings me the ball and we are "playing ball" for sure!

If you are gone during the day, by all means, a play gym. The larger the better. The more "stuff " for Birdy to do, the better. If the things with which Birdy can play can be changed, so much the better.
1/4" PVC pipe is wonderful - and cheap. Do Birdy a favour, wrap the horizontal sections with a non-slip tape. Be creative!
Lastly, provide WATER and food on/in the play gym.

Thank you so much for the answer! I'm home about 99% of the time currently but I just worry about potentially when I get a job in the future. It'll be part time at most but I want to make sure she's able to occupy herself enough.

For PVC pipe, is it alright to use just PVC pipe & vet tape? I worry about sores as I'm hoping she'll spend most of the day on it.

PVC pipe and vet tape are made for each other. ; -) Also, there is no need to cement the PVC parts together so you can be creative again in the future. Birdy will appreciate the changes. Keep in mind that you are dealing with a permanent 4yr.old covered with feathers ([emoji211]<"Yeah.").
Oh, so much more about play gyms there is! Consider making the play gym a foraging tree. YouTube has plenty of videos on play gyms and foraging trees.

@john8terry

I've seen some really great ones. I think I'll go with the PVC pipe for now.

I just don't know where to get safe branches for the bird other than one site I found from these forums.
