Parrots
1 Green Cheek and 1 Sun Conure
I have a green cheek conure (Trent) and they seem to be afraid of my left hand, but love my right hand.
It does not matter if I'm asking Trent to step up, or if I'm giving head scratches, as long as I only use my right hand, they are perfectly fine, however every time I try to use my left hand they will attempt to bite it or run away. Has anyone else seen this behavior, does anyone know the cause or how it can be fixed. A few times now I have been bitten on my face when i try to scratch my nose because of this phenomenon.

Parrots are SO WEIRD! Geez. They aren't even mammals. They hatch out of eggs!
*sigh*
I have no solutions, only support and appreciation.
I guess I would just treasure the cooperation your bird DOES show and maybe over time the evil hand will gain acceptance?
God luck.
I'm glad you're here.

Glad I'm not the only one baffled. It is the weirdest thing. I'm just glad they let me pet them with the other hand 😁

Actually that is not unheard of. SO not so weird.

We GET you!
Stay with us!.

P.S.
What Wrenchie said.
