Fargos current room

That is awesome... I get why you call it "Fargo's room" and not "our room."
What a great idea to use cat scratch gym things.. He must be a very happy chappy. :)

That is just amazing. My birds have their own room dedicated to them, but sadly still living with my parents (I am only 16), I am quite limited to what I can do with it. I am so so jealous.

Thanks, I let them roam the whole room all day, they've got their cage and a small parrot play stand at the moment, but I am currently working on a massive tree - like parrot play stand for them to play on.

Fargo is the luckiest bird alive!! :)

Tabitha, Fargo is one lucky bird to have you as a mommy ! You are so dedicated to giving him plenty of stuff room to play. That is a lovely set up. I did notice in the photos you posted the other day when he was wet that above the wardrobe door the sheetrock was chewed. I would like to suggest you make or purchase some ceiling guards to prevent the chewing of sheetrock or painted surfaces. I know you wouldnt want Fargo to get sick from ingesting those materials. You set a perfect example of responsible parrot ownership in teens, and I thank you for that. You and Fargo are lucky to have each other !

Plus, now I am begging my Hubby to allow me to hang stuff from the ceiling, again. He always say's NO, but I will wear him down till he gives in.

What is the sheetrock part? No idea what everything is called, is it the white powdery wall stuff?

It was a VERY long slow process, as he started chewing on everything when i got him, but he has finallyyyyyyy learnt not to touch walls!

Hasnt chewed a single thing in over a month!

Found out he just enjoys that type of stuff, so got him cuttlebone which he grinds now, so he doesnt bother with the walls!

No ill side effects from his previous months, he was never ingesting materials or paint, which the avian vet said isnt toxic because its older paint which doesnt have this stuff in it, he did explain it with fancy words i just dont remember ;) hahaha

Thank you for your concern! I know its not healthy for him, but i did check with the vet to make sure he would be ok until i finally trained him not too!! Now will have no more worries! :D

HAHA Definitely just need to wear him down! ;)

Awesome!! Look forward to seeing pictures of the tree when its done! :D

I knew you were a great mommy to Fargo, thats why I wanted to make that suggestion. We can't always think of all the dangers, that's why it helps to look out for each other. Sheetrock is the white powdery stuff the actual walls are made of.

Holy moly. I want to invent some kind of award just so i can give it to u for most creative expansive shared living space ever. Lucky lucky fargo

Attention Moderators!

Can we please close this thread....

My Skittles just saw the photos of Fargos room and said that I suck and she wants to move to the down under. This is coming from a rescue bird that barely speaks. She said if I was too cheap to pay for her flight to meet Fargo, that she would just fly there. This coming from a bird with atrophy in one of her wings and can't fly.

We must close this thread before more of our parrots see how spoiled Fargo is...

:09: :30: :D

oh. my. god. I wish I could do that to my room. cooper's play areas are sorta split throughout the house. playgym in almost everyroom :D haha. fargo's room looks great!

Hahahaha Thank you!

I have seen play rooms that have huge trees hanging from the ceiling though
Now those rooms look like a big bird jungles, but this is the best i can do considering i live in here as well, and i dont really like the smell of leaves  hahaha

My reward is not having a clingy bird who screams haha :09:
