Faia's Update Thread

So earlier today i posted about my mum finding a little wallaby, i thought it would be nice to have a thread where i can tell you his updates and weights, with lots of pictures of course

So this is Little Faia..
430 grams


She is very alert, he was smelling me and making her little baby noises


Sniff Sniff




Then while i was holding her, Fargo came over to see what i was doing


Mum fed her a bottle, it takes practice before they learn to drink properly, but she has a little drink!


Then she held my finger


Fargo got even more curious!


Cleaning herself, nice and wrinkly hehe



And put him away while i cleaned Fargos cage and gave Fargo dinner, then Faia will have to lie with me at my computer so she gets my body warmth

Argh I missed your post about this, HOW COOL! I want to honeymoon is Aussie .....! How COOL! I wished I lived there. He's so cute, and of course Fargo is like WHAT IS THIS NEW THING IN MY HOME!!!????

Hehe Lintini you should definitely come to Australia, go scuba diving and stuff
Hopefully Fargo doesn't get too jealous, would be nice if they are friends!


Hahahaha She is furring up now, so maybe a few more weeks and she will be nice and fluffy

Fingers crossed she stays happy tonight, she is on my lap under my blanket at the moment all cuddled up.. Just gave her a feed and she was curled up into a ball ' Go away mum i dont wanna eat!'
She should be on about 40mls a day.. so about 5mls a feed, but you have no idea how slow she drinks!

Just saw pictures while researching, and theres wallabies just lying upside down in their owners arms...

Can you guys imagine Fargo and Faia both lying upside down in each arm :54:

Hahahaaaaa Funny Wendy Lucky its not a possum otherwise it would be taking over Fargos gyms, atleast this little guy has to stay on the ground level


So last night we fell asleep on the couch watching Lost at about 10pm, then i woke up at 3am, and he was still all snuggled in his pouch under my blankets!

Went and heated up his milk, this is the fun part, my dad doesnt know about him yet, so my dad was sitting at the table, and i randomly just got a cup of hot water :54: hahaha

HE DRANK HIS WHOLE BOTTLE

Tried to toilet him, but he didnt

Put him away, mum fed him at 6am, but she said he didnt drink much..

So i fed him at 8am, and he drank the whole bottle for me hahahah
Tried to toilet him again, but he still didnt, but it might take a while for him to know he has to go

Of course i had the great help from Fargo, he was trying to hold the bottle



Then he went back to sleep

He's one of the ugliest cutest thing I've ever seen.

Like chicks when they're first hatched. I love the picture of him all tired with his mouth open, looks like a huge smile haha!

HAHAHA Yes, when he grows fur he will be super cute, i love the feel of the little fuzz and warm skin though! Hes so sweet, was giving me kisses last night


I cant tell if Fargo likes his baby brother, or not But he hasnt tried to bite him, he just looks at him very curiously..

But Faia only has to be fed every 4 hours, so Fargo gets my attention in between feeds, even though hes off playing by himself, so nothing much changes


This morning when i had Faia in my arms feeding him, and Fargo on my shoulder annoying me..

Mum said 'So how does it feel having a new born and a 2 year old? Welcome to parenthood' :09:

ITS ACTUALLY A LITTLE GIRL!!!

Her name is Faia, i call her Little Faia.. Fargo LOVES her, i called mum to my room and said ' mum she is actually a girl! ' Fargo was sitting on my shoulder while i was feeding her, and when i said that, he got SO excited, started kissing and making all these happy sounds hahaha Mums said wow he sounds happy?

This was this afternoon, i think he believes this is a baby bird, and he was trying to regurgitate for her He just wants to stick his head into the pouch and play with her, but i wont let him touch her until she is older and furrier and not so fragile

and good news! She just had her night feed, AND WENT POTTY!! Yayyyyyyyyy

Tab your new baby is absolutly adorable and that video of Fargo trying to help feed just made me smile. I wonder how the wallaby would feel about recycled bird food, Nicely warmed by his new nursemaid

When she is older she has to have veges and fruits, i can just imagine them both sitting there sharing a carrot :09:

Well i honestly do nothing else with my time, my life is basically just animals

Woke up at 3 (slept on couch with her again) made up her bottle, she takes an hour to drink 10ml -.- so slow! haha
Then she went potty again! This time a number 2, first one in 2 days.. So it was messy, had to give her a big clean with warm water, so now she is very clean and has a big tummy full of milk and some new pouches and under my blanket again! Luckily their toilets dont smell bad!

We only have 8 pouches, and she gets wrapped up in 3 each time, so she has none left now until mum washes them in the morning, guess i will be sewing up some new pouches

So looks like she will be nice and healthy!



Heres something interesting, my brother doesnt like animals, he has one cat, but thats all he likes, he might occasionally pat my horse.. Today we were playing 3ds, and he saw the pouch and his eyes lit up, and he said.. is that a kangaroo!?!?!?
and i was like yesss and he wanted to come and see it, and he said he cant wait for it to be able to hop everywhere and we should build it a yard to live in when its old hahaha

I am SO excited over Faia, it's as if I'm nursing her around the clock, no kidding! Is she soft and warm? Does she make any noises?

So I guess you'll be making more pouches today. What do you use to make them??
