Emmy infected toe help!

Was wondering if anyone knows how long Emmy will have pain? She stays in her ring (cotton padded) unless on us or feeding. Like she can't stand on a perch. Toe looks good as far as I can tell. She never went in her ring before till bedtime. Any ideas, or suggestions? Thanks Bonita :orange:

Actually, I doubt if she has much pain any longer.....what may be bothering her is the fact that the foot feels different with part of the toe missing.....if she's perching on other perches & climbing around her cage & gripping with that foot, she has little or no more pain from the amputation.....once a toe is amputated, by another bird or surgically, it is not the same as if we lost a finger...in a bird there are only a few nerves running into their toes, unlike the several to each of our fingers...like I mentioned the other day, as long as the bird is healthy, once the procedure is done & the toe is healed, which it sounds like hers is, there really shouldn't be any remaining pain

I'm just going from what my vet told me & what my bird did when he was in the same situation as Emmy.....in fact, 'Lil Bit was climbing around his cage that evening, after his amputation.....he pulled his bandage off, did not mess with the wound or the stitch that had been put in it.....the stitch dried up hard several days later & I took a pair of nail clippers & cut it off so LB wouldn't get bored & look for something new to chew on.....

Dear Friends Just wanted to let all know Emmy's nub is totally healed. The black covering (dr's) is off and she acts as if it never happened. No more hiding in her cotton ring. Thank you all for your support. Blessings to all Bonita
