Hello,
Thank you in advance for any help.
It's my first female(Charlie) a rescue GCC(I do have a 14 year old male, Eddie).
Charlie is is coming up in two years old and has laid 2 eggs in the past 3 days. I was checking to don't there is anything else I should be doing for her while laying. My conures are not caged together but sleep side by side in separate cages covered at night.

The first egg was laid in the cage and I removed it immediately because I don't want any breeding going on. The second one wasn't. A pillow case. Strangest spot but she is an explorer.

Any great tips on how to stop her egg laying and calm the hormones running between both birds? They get along great and they are supervised always outside the cage so there is no hanky panky going on. Any extra foods I should be offering? I have added multi vitamin and calcium rich foods. She seems to be more tired than usual.

Any help would be great.
Thank you..

Best to leave the eggs with her or she will very likely lay more to replace them. You can buy fake eggs from www.dummyeggs.com, they sell the appropriate size for each species, and she can sit on those to her heart’s content until she realises they’re not going to hatch. That may take 3 or 4 weeks, but the fake eggs may also prevent her laying more of her own. I wish you the best of luck, I had a chronic infertile egg-laying lorikeet and it’s not much fun!

Thank you.
I had read about that somewhere about the fake eggs as well. I will definitely look into it. Did you feed anything different during the time your Lori? Keep her in her cage more? Mine are out usually all day as I work from home.

My Lilly laid hers on the couch so that’s where she stayed during the day, but I’d put her in her cage overnight for safety. I'd leave her egg/s on the couch and she'd zoom straight back over to them in the morning! I had to ferry her food and water to her several times a day since she was a VERY determined sitter and had no mate to feed her. You may also consider extra calcium to help prevent egg-binding, scraping a little cuttlebone over her usual food works well :)
