Just asking has anybody had any luck with edible perches? My GCC loves to sit on her edible perch but has never taken a bite in 5 years. Maybe just guarding it. :21:

Edible Perches? Now that is something I have not come across!

Over the years and many Amazons, none of them had been one bit shy about turning wood branches into tiny bits. To provide them something made from something in fact truly edible would be like providing fuel to an already activate fire! :D

At some point, your dearhreart will take a bit and you will be faced with rapidly disappearing perches!

Haha.

Sometime within my first months with Sunny my sun conure, I had given her a perch made of some rock-for-chewing material. Then, I removed it. Because, I noticed it getting quite narrow close to its attachment point, while she would happily sit out toward the edge, gnawing away....

I've seen them but I honestly don't really trust them. I have nothing to back this up as I don't actually know anything about them.

Update; Actually just googled them to see ingredients and they're not really something I would feed my bird. They're alfalfa, honey, and seed.

I have them. The ones that look kinda like honeycomb they chew up. The ones thst are calcium perches i like sometimes they chew on them a little. I do not get the ones that look like compressed wood and sold cheap.

This is like my calcium one

I might have to get that bee pollen on it looks like a good idea for an edible perch.

It is! I'm so mad I forgot to pick one up when I was getting stuff today! Even the budgies chew on it
