Domnijoe - The Art Studio and Bird Herder's Residence

That's great! Can you visit him?
Unfortunately, I can't see him because I'm in another province and she's about 12-plus hours away. But I'm usually relaxed with birds and get along with everyone. Even if the bird doesn't initially like me, we develop a working relationship. This shouldn't be much different :) .

Then there's this one woman who screams scammer. She didn't even wait for me to say I'll take the bird this week and she emailed me with 'I've called the delivery company. Expect delivery to start around 8 am tomorrow morning. Expect an email from the shipping company.' Like what the heck? **Pulls her hair** SCAMMERS SUCK!

I forget how BIG Canada is!
LOL!! Yeah, we're pretty big :D. Manitoba, my home province, is about 4 hours across, by car but if you drive north, it's like a day and a half by road!

Soooooo... got confirmation that I have a small inheritance coming to me, which means some of it goes to the bird I'm getting. This means I might be able to adopt Coco, a Timneh I'd been eyeing in December already. Turns out he's NOT adopted yet! I'm just waiting to hear back from the adoption people/breeder/rescue and see if they're willing to take payment in installments and wait to ship him in late March/Early April. **Fingers crossed and prays hard** :D To recap: Coco is a male Timneh, about 3 yrs old (might be 10... have to double check). His current slaves need to rehome him because of lifestyle changes and they love him, but can't keep him. He's stick-trained, which doesn't bug me - all my birds are stick-trained. I'm so excited I could pop. I just hope this doesn't blow up in my face :P

Here's Coco:

Confirmed! Coco comes home in April! Now to find the funds for him. Oy Vey...

I signed Coco's adoption contract today! And discovered he's NOT 10 yrs, but 20 yrs old! PERFECT! It's gonna be interesting living with a wise sage of a bird, LOL!!

That's terrific! It's so wonderful when an older parrot finding an age appropriate forever home. When is your new friend coming home?

Just send the first payment for Coco's adoption! SWEEEEET! Now to start making more bird toys for him :P

Not until early April. The contract says I need to pay him off by April 7th, but I dunno how much that is written in oatmeal, you know? :D

**Sighs with frustration** We're having problems with the rescue accepting my first payment. I send the money with password and he tries to accept it with the password but it just will not be accepted by the bank. ARRRRRRG! I've never had this problem! He tried three times today. Number four will happen tomorrow. If you pray, please pray that it goes through 🐥 !

Why not try the old fashioned way of mailing or overnighting a check or a cashiers check?

I was gonna suggest that, but the last-ditch effort worked :D . Now to start sending him money until April  .

I have sent about a thousand dollars to the breeder/rescuer for the African grey, Coco. Now, to wait for my inheritance to come in! It should be here by April, but if not, I wonder if I can wrangle an extra month out of the rescue.

I also asked the rescue for more information about Coco. His likes, fave treats, foods, favorite music, etc :D. I hope I hear back from them. If not, I will throw a toddler-sized tantrum. :P

So apparently, Coco loves his nuts and Roudybush mini pellets, just like Vortex! I was given some instructions on how to care for him when he arrives, which should be next month some time :D. I'm nervous (knowing how intelligent Greys are) but excited, too. Here's to hoping I can take care of Coco reasonably...

Two things in today's post:

1) The rescuer/breeder wants me to pay off Coco as was agreed on in our contract. WHich means I'm short $700. However...

2) I have to try to convince my mom I need this bird as much as I claim and thus give me the $700. It's my money (I got an inheritance about 2 yrs ago), but my mom helps me prevent overspending. I'm using the inheritance to pay off my rent... Which means I have to show her my creative budgeting schedule. If you pray, please pray that I can convince her I need this future service animal...

3) SO excited! My first Grey! :D
