What could I expect to pay for DNA testing to find the gender of my IRN?

I've just been calling it he for ages because of some of the characteristics
he displays.

He's 6 months old so it's still a while off being able to tell naturally.

$20 if you do it yourself, $100 if you get a vet to do it.

It is not difficult.

For the feather you simply pluck a few chest feathers. For the blood you just clip a toenail slightly too short so a drop of blood can be collected. The bird gets over it very quickly and doesn't seem to notice beyond being mad that they were wrapped in a towel.

over here I'm not sure of places you can send off for a DNA test. Might be worth a quick google. Of course you can always ask your vet, nothing says you have to go through with it when you get a quote. Saying that the vet near me seemed pretty cheap for a DNA test

Mind if I ask how much you were charged?

I didn't get a full breakdown. I asked how much a load of things would cost, basic check-up, gram stain, bloodwork, microchip fitting and a DNA test. They said it would be about £260 which seemed pretty good to me
