Discoloured feathers

Hi
My 2 year old blue and gold macaw as now got black feathers all over he as seen an avian vet and is fine he eats pellets fruit and veg and a variety of mixed nuts so how do I get he's feathers back to blue

All I can share is my own story...
The Rickeybird's feathers were raggedy and discolored for his first couple of years. By the time he got his big-boy feathers at around 3-4 years he was beautiful. Possible factors... conversion to pellets, stress of a couple of moves, family issues, young and stupid owner (that would be me, 40 years ago).

Wow! How long has be been going black? Are the black feathers his first adult feathers? I'm thinking he will molt the black ones soon!

He's feathers turned black about 6 months ago he turned 2 years old this month

I am mystified. I have never seen anything like this. What types of tests did the avian vet perform? What specifically did the vet say about what caused this and whether it is temporary or permanent? We learn a lot when others share info from their avian vets. Please share and help us learn!
