Hey all,
I've managed this weekend to go look at one of the places I've seen near enough to me where I can find a bird. Annoyingly the other place I wanted to see was closed sunday so that visit will be another time. They had an adorable little conure that was one of the worker's pets there who stole my heart a bit being obviously well tempered and very happy to get some scratches from me. Of course this has brought me back to square 1 in regards to what I would prefer. I like the Cockatiel sing songs and that they're slightly bigger, but I'm not a fan of the dander they leave, I like the look of the Conures a lot more and that they don't have dander and have a stronger personality. I was talking to the people working and they were saying noise wise both are quite similar in how loud their calls are, with Conures being more shrill than Cockatiels, but they find that Conures are most of the time quiet and let out little chirps while they find their tiels to normally be making whistles and chirps a lot more often.
The store didn't have any babies yet and I don't know if they'll be having any Tiels this year. They only had some adult Green cheeks about but I found myself a bit smitten by them. As a note this place only does parent reared babies, the other place that was closed does hand-reared babies. I will probably visit the hand-rearing place on Saturday. I'm just wondering now which of the 2 are going to be best for me. Very tricky choosing a nice pet!
