Thrusday we had the Memorial Service for Pam as she crosses the Rainbow Bridge.
I was asked that if I went, would I take Zambezie along, as this is in part respect for what Pam has been to Auckland Bird rescue, and SPCA Birdwing. As Founder of both.
So I put it all on the line I took Zambezie and Potato along. Two Rainbow Lori's from the Rescue.
One on each shoulder most of the time.
They were so good, Zammy kept his mouth shut at the right times. it's almost like they could sense when to keep quite.
I even had them both sharing a sandwich with me. Wholemeal egg and ham of course! One on each hand.
I shared my orange drink with them as well.
What a buzz having two of the rescue birds put on such a good show for Pam and the rescue.
This was Potato's first big day out, I have only been working with him since mid May. His last owner said they never had him out of the cage in five years.
So for Potato it was a super big biggy.
Even free in the car, going there and coming back they were real good.
I do not cage them in the car, they were free to move around.
A No! No! to some. Sorry I have seen birds get knocked around in a cage in a car and it is not pretty.
We move all wild birds and untame caged birds in boxes or bigger birds in covered holding cages.
Some Vids of these two can be found at You Tube clawinnz
There were no pictures taken of them at the service, sorry.
