Curiosity question

One of my budgies feeds not only his mate but i have caught him feeding a couple others. Not concerned at all just curious of thats normal lol. Or is he just a sweetheart taking care of others. He is just a hair over a year old, is the spunky one of the crew too.

i heard off this before,their was an aviary were their were 2 females breeding but with one odd the nest the male died so the male off the other took care off both off them.
And mine green cheeks feed each others too ,mate or not.
