Some zoos take part in breeding programs. Believe me they have good conditions unlike these parrots in unfriendly places called here in Poland as "Papugarnia". There they live just few months

There are so many things - here are just few:
- not giving enough food to make parrots hungry, so they fly to visitors for more food (they sell seeds in cubs to visitors)
- the mentioned seeds in cubs are mostly sunflowers
- no veterinarian care - if parrot is ill, they bring to another room (no entry for visitors) where such parrots die (in most such places, not everywhere)
- there is just one room for all parrots, no matter their diet (such as lorikeets eat like other parrots)
- grey parrots and cockatoos powder, so they can't be with macaws but they are - in this way macaws are slowly killed from inside
- not enough toys - the toys are supposed to be visitors
