The plumber just left- he fixed the toilet fixture in the floor....apparently they put in a larger cabinet than was originally planned ...which is fine with me!
We are **so** close to being done with our house- it's almost excruciatingly painful because it feels like it's taking FOREVER (even though it really isn't).
Here's a horrible night picture- I would've had lights but we'll get to that in a second....
All cabinets are in, doors are in -door knobs are not), granite tile entry is going in as I type, and hardwood floors are going down next week.
The electricians were here last week installing some stuff, but the lights hadn't been delivered so they came back YESTERDAY to install the lights. Well, good thing I went in the house to check things out because they had installed the wrong lights!!! The look on that poor electrician's face they're supposed to be "brushed bronze" not "brushed nickel" -big difference. So they had to take all the lights back down
Wendy- I will be BLOWN AWAY if we're in by next weekend (doubt it though). I am chomping at the bit- and it has been a great adventure lol. And now that Sam knows how to build a house, I'm sure we could've been moved in a couple months ago lol
I'm picturing him building me a lake house...ahhhhhhh
I kid you not- I will bawl like a big baby the day we pass the occupancy inspection.
Yesterday marked 5 months since they broke ground, and it's almost done!!
The plumber came out yesterday and installed the water heater, toilets, sinks, faucets, etc. The bathroom mirrors and all the closet shelves were installed yesterday too, and the electricians were out for the third time installing the *correct* lights, but they forgot our ceiling fans so they'll have to come back for a fourth trip
Hubby said they should be done with the hardwood floors today
And our kitchen appliances were delivered today...the septic system will be turned on tomorrow -if it were a "regular" system we could already use the toilets, but it has a specialized system and a cleaning tank as well so they have to turn on the monitoring and filtering system.
I think these will be the last update pics I'll post- next time it'll be final pics!!
Kitchen- still need to do a second coat of paint for the aqua
Dining nook
The kid's bathroom (he was very upset he couldn't take a bath in it this morning LOL)
Master bath
Master bedroom (the purple wall brings out a lot of the darker tones in the floor- love it!)
Front entry area- there's dark granite tile hubby picked up from a job at a car dealership lol still needs grout..
Also, I will be glad when all this construction is done and the road building next door is done- their dumping loads of HUGE rocks to bring the grade up so they can clear a small gully, so it sounds like quarry blasts.
Chili is not a fan of all these loud noises. Poor girl.
Love the pics. You must be getting so excited!! There is a new house right near mine, that is almost finished too. I was amazed with how bad this winter was and how much they got done. My neighborhood is all 1920s homes so seeing the new place was kind of fun to watch.
The aqua is a pretty popular color right now. I have a friend who went with aqua and a few orange accents and it's a cool touch. (They also did their kid's bedroom wtih a purple wall and the rest is a gray).
Can't wait to see the finished home!
Yep! We will eventually have a back deck that may one day overhang the cliff there...the huge Cherry trees to the right of the house are losing flower petals in the wind so it looks like it's snowing
They're done working for today, no work tomorrow (a certain little person's birthday tomorrow) so it will be done Friday.
Thank you Terry! Oh you should've seen the kid last night- he was running around the whole house screaming and laughing...he loved it lol
Appliances are going in today, but there are still a few things that need to be done before we can get occupancy, but I would say within the next two weeks (at the most)
