I have a new rb2, he is almost 9 weeks old. When I got him, he was the same dusty kind of rose and grey that his clutch mates are. I have noticed over the past week that he is looking darker. He is more of a darkish rose/red. I don't think it can be a health issue, he has been vet checked and from what I understand feathers on them don't change that quickly and once they are formed. He does get peanut butter in his formula, I am not sure if the oils are getting on his feathers (he is a messy eater at times) and that is spreading on his feathers. I took him in the shower yesterday (he loved it!) I feel like he came out of the shower even darker. Today I had him at my breeders shop and I took a look at his clutch mates they are sooo much lighter than he is. One of the owners looked at him and asked me if I am rubbing his feathers a lot. I said no, I haven't rubbed them at all. I have cleaned him off when he gets messy with a damp paper towel but that is it. She kind of got me worried, has anyone experienced this?
