I would not leave on a harness if the bird is not outside, no purpose in it. Just like the above posting mentioned, they can hurt themselves if attached to the cage with a harness. If kept idol, they will chew on them, get tangled, etc.

My birds knows they can fly after they grew them back. But most of my birds don't even try to fly, they prefer to just climb down the cage, hop on the floor and start walking through the house looking for me. I can not leave my ekkies unattended for a sec, I think they have separation disorder or something cause they will fly onto the floor or fly around the house come searching for me if I even step out of the room for just a second. Some of them will scream hell on the play stand until I come back. They crack me up with the stuffs they do, crazy birds I tell ya....lol.....The only one that does best on a play stand is actually Willie the B&G, he stays on it and play and dance. He won't scream or hop off if I walk out for a sec.
