Ciry, Kira - B&G
Hey guys! Just wanted to share what happened to me last week. We were having a birthday party at my parrent's house. We were on the garden, Ciry was with us on her perch inside the "garden party room" like I call it. It was about 8pm when she just flew out of the room, to the garden and disappeared in the distance. Then I just heard her calling for me :p I went out to see where she went, and ther I saw her on a tree about 25m above the ground and 350m away from us. I waited a little bit if she wouldnt fly back, but shelooked kind of happy there lol, so when it started to get a little bit dark, I went closer and she started to climb near the edge of the tree to fly to me, but the path was too steep, so she did 2 circles around me and landed on another tree.

This happened one more time and then she landed on a tree in our garden. And it was already night (about 9.30pm) so she didnt see that good. The top of the tree was unaccessible, so I decided to leave her there until the sun comes out again.

Not such a long night lol, I sayed up a long time looking at her, then I went to sleep for about 2-3 hours. When the sun came up a little bit, I went out and called her, she then AGAIN missed me (LOL) and flew to another tree. Then FINALLY she had a perfect flight path to me, so she landed on my hand. And that was the best part, she looked like "HEY WHATS UP WHAT ARE WE DOING NEXT?!" lol she just looked so relaxed, and normal I couldnt even believe it. Well I took her home then, gave her a lot of kisses and hugs and prepared her some good yummy food :)

I just wonder why she flew out of the room in the first place, she wasnt stressed, nothing scared her... just strange. And I guess now we know what to train more when I keep her free flighted

Johnny, almost anything could have caused her to take flight, a light flashing/sparkling on jewelry, a scarf fluttering, for some birds even bright colors bother them.....

When our feathered friends find themselves it tall trees, they may not know how to fly down.....flying down from a height of fourty feet or higher is different, to a bird that doesn't normally fly from tall heights, than flying to the floor from 4-8 feet high cage tops.....

Must be nice to live where you don't have Great Horned Owls hunting birds at night. I can't even leave the big chickens or the turkeys out at night.

There must be something in the air with quite a few B&G ending up in trees. :11: SO glad you got her back, Johnny!!! :)

I'll be keeping my doors tightly shut for the next few days. :54:

Wow well that would be trouble, I can already see myself sitting there under the tree with cowboy hat and shotgun, guarding her all night :D

Heh yes that may be true, my friend's macaw ended up flying away WITH HARNESS !!! (I was soooo angry with him, thats like the most dangerous thing, letting them get away with harness on !!) but luckily nothing happened. Also Tab and Fargo had theirs little big adventure with tree climbing :D

Now we laught, but when it happens...

And thank you :)
