Christmas tree made into bird stand?

Would it be safe to turn my Christmas tree into a bird stand for my green cheek? Im thinking of [after x-mas] removing all the needles and most of the branches. sanding it down and somehow securing it to a a stand. Any advice? and will it be safe for my bord?

I really would not advise. Most xmas trees are cut months in advance and are sprayed with everything from paint to fire retardants. Plus any pesticides from when it was grown.
