Right after I get out of the shower kenji is CRAZY about me. I become his favorite person, I can pet him, he starts regurgitation(I try not to have him do this, but he's just so excited), and he even stepped up from his cage once! He's starting to really like me a lot, but no where near the level of when I get out of the shower XD

So I was thinking, maybe I should die my hair dark? To make it seem like it's wet all the time? Do you think I should try?

I've heard of some parrots getting upset by owners dying their hair, so I'd be wary about changing it...what if kenji likes it but Rosie doesn't? Then you'd have a problem :) you never know, though, it might be worth a try.

Those are great points, I'd hate if Rosie didn't like it. Especially since I take her out flying in her harness. What if she ever gets loose and doesn't recognize me D:

It was worth a though, but I think the cons out way the pros lol Thanks Julianna!

Why not try the wash out stuff? So it just stays dark for i think 8-20 washes? Then you can see how they both react :)
That's a good idea! And it will cost way less than getting it done at the salon too :D

My best friend is my personal hair stylist and she's been doing my hair for years....When she decided to change my hair color drastically one day and I came home to Willie being very very upset. He didn't recognize me and I had to calm him down. I kept speaking to him to tell him it's me it's ok...It took some coaxing then he was fine, ever since then it didn't bother him when I get my hair in a different color....lol....It doesn't seem to bother my other birds at all, it bothered my dogs at first until they hear my voice then they were fine. So yea, be real careful about changing color!

My senegal is "fresh" when I am in the shower. He hops around outside the door, drumming on the wood with his wings. Then he climbs up the shower curtain if my boyfriend wakes up and goes to open the bathroom door for him. He gets all the way up to the rod and hops on to the shower head. From there to the outside shower window. What do these craaazy birds want? Humidity. Climbing. A fresh perspective. Attention. Have fun. Just don't let your little chickletini fall into the tub like Dorian the Senegal did. It's all sneezing and guilt trips until they can climb up to the top window again.

why don't you handle Kenji when you get out of the shower since he prefers you that way, and then when your hair dries, you can be with Rosie.

If Rosie acts the same with you when you get out of the shower, then you should have no problem coloring your hair. ;)

I remember the first time I wore makeup and I put my hair up in a pony tail and put hoop ear rings in and I had just got a puppy and she didn't recognize me so she barked and growled like to say hey what did you do with my human sister! I had a budgie at the time and he was like trying to avoid me ( he avoided everyone who wasn't me!) :D so long story short im not shore changing your hair might not be a wonderful idea!

I take full advantage of that moment, all our training break throughs happened after I took a shower, and he's better with me when my hair is dry. The big difference is that when my hair is wet I can touch him, sometimes pick him up off his cage, and pet him. When it's dry I would be bitten badly if I tried lol

I decided I'm going to try dip dyeing my hair and see how they react to that, if they freak I can cut it off, if they don't care I'll try dyeing all my hair.

I dyed my hair a few months ago- totally forgot it might affect Jackie.. I was more concerned with covering up my roots and grays lol I went from medium reddish brown to blackish brown. Jackie freaked. Who the fuzz are you and what'd you do with my mom?!? Lol it took him a few days to adjust, but he also didn't appreciate me wearing makeup either (I usually don't wear any being at home all the time lol)

Bosley doesn't seem to care, I've died my hair, painted my nails, wear make up.
He is fine with everything, Rosie might not mind at all since you know each other so well.

Haha. That's funny. I try to stay away from Simba on Halloween when I get all dressed up. I hang out with him during the day and then hide him for the rest of the night as to not scare him! One year I almost got a heart attack because he almost got a heart attack when I came into the room dressed as a dead clown. Lol. At that point I had only had the wig on! Haha.

Why don't you, OP, wet your hair and hang out with him until your hair is completely dry so with time he can see you're still the same person? Wet or dry.
