Isolated Holler in the Appalachian Wilderness
Parrots
B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
All 3 adds are the same bird. I sent an email(4 days ago with no response so far) but we really aren't in a position to take on another bird atm. We just took in a galah and 2 cockatiels. People in this area are hit or miss with animals and the thought of this 2 year old being rehomed already breaks my heart. We would love to be able to take her in, but our first obligation is to the ones we already have, and we don't want to take on more than we can at this time.

No doubt this spoiled teenager got the bird because she wanted it and now is facing going off to college or something. Why teach the bird I love you when she clearly doesnt? Gaah this makes me so sad.

Poor Parrot! That said college would be problematic for the Mac.

We are strictly Amazons and the distance is a full day travel one way for us, so we cannot help.

IMHO, she should contact her Avian Medical Professional, but I'm going to guess this Mac has never seen one. But, she should at less contact local Vets that do see Parrots. Not sure if there is a Parrot Group in her area, but they are good sources as well.

Do you know where the bird is located? I just saw the picture, but if you do, you might be able to draw a sanctuary or rescue's attention to this situation. If you really wanted to get crazy, you could find a parrot Youtuber and see if they are interested in helping.

I was wonder if it’s an actually real post because there is a price discrepancy- one post says 4000 another says 2500- that to me says scam? Maybe I wrong tho or miss read. If this is really I hope the little macaw finds a wonderful family soon. I know people can post on a website called adopt a pet but all the money for the pet goes to a nonprofit organization

Sad to see, hope that B&G gets a deserved good home.

Initial ad touting $4K posted "about a month ago," price drop to $2.5K "six days ago." Location appears to be a bit south of Lexington KY. Final link has been "flagged for removal."

Yeah price started 4k, then went to 3700 about a week ago. Yesterday was 2700, now 2500. Seems she is desperate to move the bird as fast as she can. I might text today and see if that gets her attentiin more. If she drops the price to something more reasonable, maybe we could foster the mac for a time or something. IDK, but I don't want someone like the trollman getting their hands on the bird due to an ever dropping price. :(

There is a parrot hand feeding and selling store in the area... "The Parrots Nest" no doubt they are behind this bird being in that home. Always having lots and lots of babies being hand fed, no adult birds. Cockatoos and macs(and other species) very very young... and hybrid birds. When we first heard about the place we were interested, but their facebook page shows clearly what they are. We stay away, far away. Edit to add, they of course also are willing to sell unweaned babies.
