The room would have its door closed and its across a small hallway
Would it still hurt my kak?
(Sorry for all my many questions XD)

I've ironed in front of my birds. Just don't use starch. The only thing to worry about is them flying into the iron 😊

She may have been referring to irons with teflon coated ironing plates.....

Oh yeah lol whoops

I used it and my bird seems fine but I don't know if it was Teflon. This might sound dumb but, how can you tell if its Teflon? I used it in the same room as my cats and I overburned it a bit.

I have a 'non stick' iron, a cheap one too, and i use it upstairs in a bedroom, away from the birds and i generally only iron for about 5 minutes (only what i am wearing that day). I seriously ONLY iron in a pinch.....that's what dryers are for!!! haha
But i do use it in a different part of the house and do not use an ironing board with one of those coated covers. I throw a towel under what i am ironing normally instead of using the ironing board.

Happycat, ironing with a teflon coated iron or a teflon coated ironing board cover should normally be OK, as long as you are in another room, like you did, because the iron would be operating below the temperature level that causes offgassing.

Just be sure you don't leave the iron turned on & laying flat.....you'll probably lose the house and the birds in the resulting fire.
