Bugieitis Sufferer...Hopeless Case ...Incurable

Hi, I'm from the MBS Association. MBS is a tragic disease that can strike the most unassuming parrot owner at any time. Sudden onslaught of this can result in buying more vegetables and other produce then any human could eat in a week, lack of free time and some report hearing loss from constant stimulation. Others report being buried in unused toys. So the next time some one calls for a donation, give.

Mary, I wonder how old Chip's 'online girlfriend' is? Chip is underage you know... only 9 1/2 weeks old :D. Mink, his real life 'girlfriend to be' is 15 months old. He'll have to keep his correspondence hidden from Mink you know LOL!

That's great how she responds to you by knowing that you're different from the other humans that just grabbed her and didn't show her love and respect. They are emotional and intelligent birds just like other parrot species regardless of their size!

Ha ha I will indeed and some of the proceeds are sure to return to me as one of the consequences of having Budgieitis is that at some point you are also prone to MBS :) I think it can safely be said That my Budgieitis has progressed to this point and is about to get at least one Budgie worse in the coming months hee hee :)

The very first Budgie I had was an older bird from an aviary and she didnt live very long...I knew nothing about Budgies and she was confined to a little cage that the petshop reccommended as being suitable...way too small of course and being wild when she got fly about time she was so hard to catch until one day I ended up with my leg in plaster after a fall (i was about 10) and I let her out of her cage in my bedroom to fly free for a while and instead of going out of reach she spent the whole time quiete close to me as I lay on the bed...they are indeed a remarkable little parrot that sense and emotionally respond to everything that goes on around them.

SSSSSSHHHH dont tell Mink about the new online Mystery GF that would cause feathers to fly... I have a feeling that the Mystery online GF might be quiete a bit older than Mink but she is as I type cooing and drueling over Chips recent pics...When True Love strikes age goes out the window ...ha ha Chip can be her Toy Boy :)

Well the Mystery Girl with the missing toes and no known long term history has a name. I tried a couple of names on her this morning but she didnt really look as if she was interested in any of them then I tried Elsa and told her she was born to be free like Elsa the Lioness I even hummed the tune for her and I promised her that she would get a lot of freedom here to stretch her little wings and fly and she looked at me and chirped ...well more a budgie squawk really but I think she likes the name so Elsa is her name; the budgie born to be free with the brave heart of a Lioness :) Well she obviously is very brave having been in battles where she lost some of her toes and shes also brave enough to sit on this crazy womans finger to play step up games and climbing finger stairs games and check out parrotforums.com with her over breakfast. Thats pretty brave in my books :) Iwill take some pics later :)

Elsa it is, a perfect name for a perfectly lovely girl!

I am so happy to see you are working through your MBS symptoms in positive ways!

I love the name Elsa for your beautiful girl :) that's perfect.

Well, Mink will not ever come to know about Elsa, that's for sure lol. But as you say, when true love strikes, age goes out the window :18:.

Well Miss Elsa went to school today to learn step up she showed me she can do it and then she so cutely disobeyed me and walked right up my arm to my shoulder...she doesnt seem to be at all bothered by the camera like Mr Biggles and Peter Pan are to varying degrees but she doesnt like to be held at all...she squawks in terror on seeing my hand come into her cage so I just hold it still and wait for her to scamper away from me and then when she sees Im not chasing her she returns and perches on my finger and comes out of her cage perched on my hand or else runs up my arm to my shoulder. She is extremely tame for a fully flighted Budgie which leads me to believe that she may have been hand raised originally before finding herself somehow in an aviary setting.

I love that video of Elsa :). What a good girl! She figured she did what you had asked enough times, so it was her right to climb up your arm at that point to go and relax :D!

I'm thrilled for you that you came to have Elsa. It was meant to be... not only did your friend happen to notice her at the right time (the height of your Budgieitis flare up) but that she also happened to be not just any budgie, but the "right" little individual for you as well :).

Wow, I hadn't seen a budgie like that one before, seems like they're mostly muted colors. So bright and cheerful looking, cutest one ever!

Awww, love the name Elsa (and the movie Born Free!). Perfect name for a perfectly gorgeous little Lady. That video was precious! She learns fast!
We do still have our Budgies, the female is Mallie and the male is Sawyer, and they are still living happily ever after, hopefully for a long time to come:)

Thanks Julie :) Shes perfect and very brave too much braver than Mr Biggles and Peter Pan. And it was the perfect time for her to arrive too in other ways as well as I was missing the two budgies I used to babysit for their Mom and Dad have moved to the UK where they got permanent employment and they brought Custi and Gelato the two Budgies ...(hes a chef hence the names )with them so I was missing them too. I am so glad that Christine spotted Elsa for I wouldnt have been to the store again for another week or more and by then she could have been injured.

Adorable :)! How did she get a shower? Did you use a spray bottle?

No the actual shower she is resident in the bathroom for her quarrentine period and the other pair can shower in the utility room for that period...she spread her wings out flapping them and got all the goodness of the shower ...then when she had enough she flew off ...clever little girl :)

I have just been on the phone chatting to my friend who is the Budgie breeder to see if the eggs had hatched and what colour the babies were expecting them to be white as both parents are white but guess what the eggs did hatch this time and the babies are now almost two weeks old and are not white but yellow just like Elsa...i was thrilled when I heard they were lutino...trouble is there are only two babies in the nest...( parents it seems broke two other fertile eggs too early) The babies are not hand raised they are being parent raised but are being handled while the parents feed them in the nest. I cant wait to see the two Elsa Look alikes. She tells me that one appears to have dark eyes while the other has red eyes and by the sounds of it are not the ruby red of Elsa's eyes but probably very red. I was so excited that I forgot to ask her for pics of the babies ...will ask her next time I phone her...I will try to be good and do that in a week not tomorrow LoL :) The babies wont be ready for a few weeks yet as they need to be eating well and able to perch and do all the things baby birds do before they go to their new home so a few weeks to go yet before we have any addition to the flock here but its getting close and closer by the day :)
PS: I wont tell you guys what I did hee hee :)

Oh Mary, now you have to tell us!! Picked one out and paid for it? What, we have to know! :D

How exciting. One with red eyes is lutino, if one has black eyes it's a DEC (dark eyed clear). I can't wait to see pics of them!
