Budgie ate toy?

I think we may have turned a corner.:giggle: He is still sneezing but was very invested in his after breakfast treats and he found his new shredder toy. Last night was long. I checked on him a few times. He's awake and watching me from a high perch. Thank you so much for all your advice to a paranoid new parront. :whiteblue:

I'm so happy Ollie's doing better. I was just telling my husband about Ollie and we were talking about how hard it is when your bird is sick and you feel so helpless. You've put so much love into caring for Ollie and I hope he recovers soon.

I think the worst part is not having safe transportation to take him in as needed. I am so thankful that I managed to get him there Monday. He just started talking again❤️ ❤️. He just found his new perch we got for his special toe:

I am fortunate. 40+ yrs of critical care RN. Giving meds isn't a challenge or issue. The lack of heat is. I have bags of air activated hot pads. I carry these yr round. Some kept in car, birdie travel kit etc. A plexiglass sheet to hang on side of cage so hot pads are out of reach. Then covering cage in that area w heavy blanket or towels. My CAG can move away from heat or stay. Actually lack of heat, drafts from fans, a/c concerns me a lot.

What's wrong with Ollie's toe?
I'm not sure if it was caused by his nails never being clipped before I got him, or if he was just made a little special, but his back left toes are crooked and kind of smooshed together. He's quite clumsy. He has trouble gripping with that side. He gets into trouble trying to land or perch sometimes and crash lands. I kept this video hoping to show the vet, but it was right before his most recent nail trimming. That could have contributed to this particular moment.
