This should keep her off my shoulder for a while lol. I spent the most part of today building this for Buddy. Its made up of Eucalyptus branches and sisal lashing with a laminated chipboard base (melamine) which is easy to clean (don't worry, she won't be chewing on the base). There are 3 countersunk screws, 1 holding each trunk to the base board, and another one on top of the smaller trunk - none are accessable to Buddy. Its been a long time since she has had a nice play gym, she has put up with boring dowel T-stands and my shoulder for the last 2 years or so. I thought its time she had another fun play gym. It measures about 740mm (29.1in) from base to tip. She is a little affraid of it, but she always warms up quickly so small steps. Once I dress it up with some toys and some fresh gum leaves from across the road, I doubt I'll ever see her again:rolleyes:

I'll take more images once its all set up and she is happily playing on it. I will also try and find some photos of her old gyms, i used to make them a lot. now to go and make one for Eddie...........;)

Well done it is always good to see someone go natural.
Try hanging some of her fav foods on it, that helps most times.

Fabulous job Ben, you are very creative.... ;)
When are you passing by this side of the world again LoL
You have got my permission to build Mishka one haha
Hope your birds have hours and hours of fun, sure they appreciate your good effort.

AB, that's a masterpiece! Looks very carefully crafted.

Let us all know what Buddy thinks of it!

Hey Ben just a thought, I added a couple of dishes on mine I usually just use one with water.

Thanks every one, I'm about to go and get her and do a proper introduction in a minute.

Would you believe I have the exact same bowls and I spent about an hour last night trying to figure out how to hook them on:rolleyes:. Thank you for showing that picture...'duh' drill some holes. Lol can't believe I didn't think of that.

PS. Sure, I'll come and make some gyms for you all....I like to travel first class btw, just wire me the tickets hehe ;)

Would you mind traveling cargo? Just pack yourself in a crate with Buddy and Eddie, and stamp FRAGILE on it. So much cheaper, LOL ;)

Knowing my birds, they will probably end up in 1st class sipping champaign, while I sit in the bird carrier below deck.

Here's my girl showing off her new play gym. I introduced her to it properly this morning. Using the target stick i got her to climb all the way from the table to the top perch unassisted (took about 5 minutes). She was a little nervous at first, checking every branch for stability with her beak before stepping onto it. Now she is very happy sitting and chilling on her new stand. All it needs now are some food dishes, fresh leaves and toys.:D

 look who's a little jealous. First thing he did after I opened his cage this morning was fly over and land on Buddy's new gym lol. He will get his own soon. This one is a little too small for him.

Awww... how sweet is that! She looks so content on there. I also like the method you used to get her acquainted with it, nicely done.
