I guess Buddy wasn't happy with Venus and I playing with her spoons and Popsicle sticks because out of the blue he says clear as day, "Love You." Of course I immediately turned to him and asked him if he said "Love You." Buddy's demeanor, who cares, I got your attention now, pick me up and scratch my head! He cracks me up, he can speak clearly but only when he wants something, otherwise it's lazy talk, "Hello" becomes "mmmeeewwwwooo". So now I'm working on getting him to say "Love You", he's so stubborn, lol.

That's funny how they "can" say things clearly when they put forth the effort. When they REALLY need you to hear it! Otherwise I guess it's just easier to just slur some sounds together LOL! Cracked me up when you said "Hello" becomes "mmmeeewwwwooo"

Oh Buddy, you are such a tease! Your mom knows you can say, Love You, and you give her, mmmeeewwwwooo?

They really make us work for some of our treats!

Haha that's too funny how they use what they know we want to get what THEY want!! Smart birds!

Pumpkin will say "Hi Pumpkin" all day long despite my efforts to get more out of him, but yesterday I put him in his cage so I could shower and when I started walking away I heard clear as day "Come 'ere". Well needless to say, he got what he wanted. :)

Pumpkin and Harry should do a survey and compare statistics. Harry says, "come here," and "come on," the dogs usually obey, I usually obey, house guests, I've never seen anyone that could resist an invitation from a parrot. Once they get there, well, we're still working on that.

ROTFL!!!!! Yes the getting there. Buddy sucks all unknowing victims in with a sweet, crystal clear "Hellllooooo", throw kisses and once they are near him he turns into a mini hulk of terror. I have been looking for a nice sign that says "I Bite" to hang on his cage when we have guests over. However, the best, and most adhered to warning I gave to my nieces about sticking their fingers in his cage was when my cousin was over and they were there too. He lost part of his finger in a lawnmower accident, but I told the girls to stop sticking their fingers in Buddy's cage, he'll bite. "See Tommy's finger? He stuck his finger in Buddy's cage and now he has half a finger." Which Tommy went right along with, showing them his finger, the girls stayed away and left Buddy alone, all adults were snickering.

Oh YES! Everyone LOVES the cute little parrot that talks and everyone wants to hold him and love on him and feed him millet. The problem is that cute little parrot would sooner rip a hole in your flesh than step up for you or eat your poisoned millet.

Despite my best efforts to socialize, Pumpkin is very much a one person bird. Mommas boy.
