Does anyone have a moment when they wish their parrot hadn't acted "that way"? Last Thursday we had a new couch delivered, Buddy decided he liked one of the delivery people and kept wolf whistling at him. The guy took it in stride smiling and whistling back which just pushed Buddy's buttons more, lol.

Today a Dish technician showed up to upgrade our equipment. He was very tall, Buddy was a jerk, didn't like him at all! This man was quiet, did his job, very respectful, Buddy was over the top, embarrassing with his reactions and outbursts. I believe if he wasn't locked in his cage he would have attacked the nice man. I did think of bird senses but all went well and he left.

Then there is Canelo, Mr. Stubborn who wants to be on the new couch and is getting technical. In this pic from this morning, he's on the blanket, not touching the couch technically. Talk about a hard head, lol.

Oh, I have sooooooooooooo many incidents to choose from...
But the worst was this.
At a local Humane Society holiday fund-raising event, Santa was hosting pets and asking what they wanted for Christmas. They were going to be asked, and then Santa would pretend to listen and then say "Oh, another pet just wants donations to the Society", and so on. We had all rehearsed. Local press was there.
The Rickeybird finally got his turn... but before Santa could ask, Rbird yelled "Maggot! Maggot!!! MAGGGOTTT!" at Santa, who was speechless, speechless, SPEEEECHLESS!!!!
The crowd gasped and then began to laugh.
("Maggot" was a popular insult back in the day... my ol' man used to call the bird that, yep.)
I heard cameras snapping, but we didn't get our photos in the newspapers.
The year was @1992... here is the photograph from the Rickeybird Scrapbook thread. You'll note that Santa decline to host the bird in his lap...

Oh yes, true story. The birds were getting along fine, Jim is awesome, like a long lost brother, the Queens wife was even having a good time. Jim is telling me how Amy never bites anyone, how mellow she is when he takes her out all the time. I reached over ( in my patented Hi Birdy clenched hand, cuz I know better), and like lightening, Amy reached out to . Yeah reached out to slice top and bottom of my knuckle ! And cuz I take blood thinners, I bled like a stuck pig. LOL, Jim was really upset, but it was all good, I realized she was stressed out from the car ride and I should have waited til later to interact ( because it;s never the fault of the Amazon ! ). SHe was ok when Salty and I visited later in the year, and Amy took a treat from me no problems.

The Rickeybird would have bitten Santa (above) for sure, if he had the chance... THAT might have gotten us into the local papers...
