Bringing him home...

Got him home!

Oh my he is a beauty. I see you have a Timneh. So do I. She is the best bird one could ever want in their life. You will have so much fun and love.

I did LOTS of looking around, reading, and question asking before I finally decided on the Timneh. The breeder sent me an email last night and said she heard him talking after she turned the lights out. She couldn't tell what he was saying though...lol

So far so good! He has no problem coming out of his cage...loves to "step up" and has even started giving my wife and daughter kisses and preening their hair...He "puts up with" us boys...lol So far his favorite spots are anywhere on my wife and the top of his door when it's open. Vet appointment is today at 1:15, hopefully putting him back in his crate doesn't traumatize him making him think he's going somewhere else since he just got here today.

My kids are nervous because he is SOOO quiet! He has VERY quietly mumbled something 2 or 3 times but other than that, not a peep. No bird noises, whistles, squaks (even when startled), nothing. I told them to enjoy the quiet cause when he started up he probably wouldn't stop....ever...LOL

Another picture cause I'm a proud Papa and he's such a pretty boy...LOL

He doesn't have a name yet? If not, someone here can probably come up with a great one. I have named so many animals though I have trouble these days coming up with a new one. I actually let the people on another forum name my cat.

How old is he? He has the adult coloring in the beak. Name? You can put out a seperate thread and ask for suggestions along with his photo. We have don this many times on the forum. You would be surprised what good names we come up with. I will start with a few names: Lance, Luke or Alpha.

LOL, the kids have decided on Cody Blu.

As for the age he was hatched October 29'th of 2011 so he'll be 5 months old next week.

When we took him to the vet for his checkup Friday he weighed 274 so he still has a bit of growing to do.

My TAG Rosie's wt. has been maintained at about 290 to 300 gms. She tends to weigh more when flighted after molting. They eat more for the muscle strength and energy it takes to fly. I will also have her clipped at times.
