Or should I say Beakthrew? Ollie McFussy actually voluntarily nibbled on broccoli, carrots, green beans, tangerine bits, celery and corn in the same breakfast today! We've been in a standoff about this for two months...because he knows perfectly well that if he holds out a little while his trusty seeds are coming.

Congratulations! He will be a convert before you know it. My budgies love their chop. In fact, they'll eat just about anything I throw in their bowls now and everything on MY plate, too!

It can take a protracted length of time for some parrots to recognize (or accept) alternate foods as actual nourishment and not just new play toys or Kryptonite. My 'zon Saly took almost a whole year of being offered pellets until he decided these are food and not just stuff to throw out of the cage. Keep offering the veggies! Literally the best foods one can give to parrots.

(Kryptonite is a fictional material that appears primarily in Superman stories published by DC Comics. In its best-known form, it is a green, crystalline material originating from Superman's home world of Krypton that emits a unique, poisonous radiation that can weaken and even kill Kryptonians.)

He is definitely starting to recognize veggies as food now...he enthusiastically ate hand held green beans this morning. Once he makes a connection he's all in...whether it's a toy or his swing or bath (took him ages to be convinced the little bath container wasn't a budgie eating dragon) or food...and then he becomes very pleased with himself for making such a discovery.
