I enjoy making my own bread. Sure, it's a bit of work (I don't have a bread machine), but hey: the house smells nice when it's baking; I can experiment with different herbs, nuts, etc., and so on.
This morning, I went to pour my coffee, turned around, and this is what I saw:
I am now beginning to wonder if all the bread-making efforts are actually worth it...
On a more serious note, things really are going well with Eliza and Henry. No fights--not even a squabble at this point. True, Henry is more interested in Eliza than the other way around. That may be because she's totally bonded with me and has had me to herself for nearly a year. But she doesn't object when he comes over to perch with her on one of the play-stands.
I remain very careful and keep a close watch on them when they're both out. As cute as this photo may be, it was a valuable lesson to me: don't turn my back on them for a second, as this could have turned out to be a serious fight. I also give them separate times out of the cage; it's useful for training Henry, as he's just a baby. Plus, it helps me (I hope!) to establish with them who the "head bird" is around here!
Best to all,
Derek
