- I Sun Conure who hatched March 23. 2004. I adopted her on May 8, 2005
I had a Quaker Parrot named Nikki who lived for 19 years
I grew up with Budgerigars named Screech, Zoar and Blue Baby
I have two 18 year old females - Suna nd Quaker - that are both bonded to me and bonded to each other.
I notice thought that the Quaker often takes the lead and the Sun follows. For example. Sometimes if I got to pick up the Quaker and move her to another spot the Sun immediately follows. If the Quaker climbs to the top of the cage the Sun will follow. If the Quaker makes a jailbreak out of the cage, the sun will follow LOL!
Often times when they are eating together, Nikki goes first.
I would not say that the Sun is the Quaker's complete shadow but I find it all interesting at times to see that. I will mention that the Quaker came to live with me first and the Sun came a year later so I am wondering if the order of adoption has anything to do with it. Sunny may be older but she is "younger" in terms of years living with me.
Anyone else experienced this? I there is really a pecking order with birds.
