Today's Cat of the Day is a kitten named Sparrow, in the middle of their Christmas tree, Sparrow - Siamese, Tabby mix - December 12, 2013 and as she has a bird name, it got me wondering! Do any of your birds every perch on your Christmas tree? What do they think of it if you have one?
We always had a few old birdie ornaments on our tree, and of course I liked hanging those - birds belong in tree, right?
But are fir trees, or spruce or whatever species standard Christmas trees are safe for parrots if they decide to nibble? I know my rabbit adored the tree, considered it all a giant chew toy, so we only had lights and ornaments on the top half that she couldn't reach, but of course bunnies and birds have different digestive tracts!
And of course I want to encourage any parrots with holiday pictures to nominate themselves for Pet of the Day! We have a form now, so it is easier - see Tell the world about your pet! - Pet of the Day
