Well! It's been a busy busy week! I figured I'd post an update about all the fids at once instead of one in each appropriate section.
Well, Yoshi found a wonderful home. He left today and as emotional as it was for me(and Brad) I have faith he is going to a fantastic home. A woman and her adult son have worked with rescue macaws and 'toos in the past(the son was actually sporting a bite scar from an abused scarlet..) and presently had no birds, so Yoshi doesn't have to quarantine or defend his personal space from anyone else. They both remarked on his progress during his time with me compared to the pictures from the day he came home, and she even offered to send me updates on his further improvement. So I'm very happy for them.
The conures are doing well, Kiwi is still being a hormonal meanie, but it's okay. She's talking more. Not really saying anything new, but more frequently.
Pascal is still doing wonderfully. Hasn't bitten anyone yet, gets excited for showers, LOVES car rides. No new sounds/no words but it hasn't been very long yet!
We picked up some roudybroush(however it's spelled) pellets to try to wean him to, as he wouldn't touch the ZuPreem. He seems to be more willing to try, we got the smallest ones so they look more like seeds than boring old pellets. He also likes broccoli!
I'm about to order some more toys/an aviator harness for Pascal and maybe one for Loki. Kiwi won't wear ANYTHING so I won't be buying her one unless me day she tolerates wearing Loki's, then she will get her own.
The weather is awesome so if we can get anyone to wear a harness without any trouble then we'll be bringing a fid or two with us when we play frisbee golf! (And food, as we'll likely be taking a lunch break if we take the birds. Just so they can get food/water.)
That's pretty much all that's new that I can think of.. Oh, pascal also likes blankets. Only certain ones though. He's picky about color/texture. I think it's nesting instinct but I can't be sure. Still wanting to get him DNA'd so I can know for sure if he is actually a girl.. Lol. It really wouldn't surprise me!!
