Bird fleas?

I'm sure that Bill is clean, but I was wondering if Amazons ever get anything like that? We have cats and a dog, and use flea stuff all the time. with the dog going out 4 times a day, you can't keep them completely free all the time. Just wondering if birds get anything like that? I see him scratching once in a while, and I see little flies around him once in awhile too. I always clean his food and water dish, but sometimes that fruit and veggies attract insects. Just asking, thank you for the info.
PS, his home is spotless!

They can get mites and lice. Be careful if you apply topical fkea treatment to pets as the residual on your hands can harm your bird.
