Better safe than sorry! A close call!

I am so glad being a bit OCD pays off at times!
A beautiful day here, really nice wind, low 80's. So JoJo and I were out, he, in his outdoor cage, a cheap, flimsy, wire cage. Had him in the shade, on a 4 foot stand. Yes, the wind caught it and flipped it off the stand, landing upright! JoJo is fine, really didn't seem shaken at all!

The OCD? Because the cage pops together, I didn't trust it. I have every snap point reinforced with tyewraps! I see those cages all the time in the cookie cutter pet stores, as the perfect cage! One bump, and they fall apart!

As said, fortunately JoJo is safe and whole!

I like how you think. I am always paranoid-ishly brainstorming what MIGHT happen and then planning for it. Usually people laugh, but every now and then I have occasion for a really satisfying ITOLDYOUSO. OCD saves lives!

Bolting wouldn't work for two reasons. I use this cage all over the place when I am outside, and, what I called a stand, is really one of those big recycling thingys used in residential settings!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean things can't go wrong!!! I'm a big one on zip ties too. I zip tie carriers too, just the same thought!

Oh man, I got one of largish dog crates to take Gus to the vet, etc. it was hard to find something wide enough for macaw & tail that didn't weigh a ton. Now I'm going to ziptie it. Zip it! Zip it good!
