Keen decided I'm not so scary after all! I sat on the floor while she was walking around my office. She came up to me and I gave her a sunflower seed (which she LOVES). Then I placed one on my shoulder and she stepped over and grabbed it. Then again. Then without a seed offering I asked her to "come see Mommy". She stepped onto my shoulder and hung out there, preening my hair and rubbing her beak on my face, for over an hour! I was so happy and excited, I almost cried! I didn't make any attempts to touch her, because historically that doesn't go well, and I just wanted it to be good for her. We talked, watched CNN, and mostly just told her what a good girl she was.
BEST DAY EVER! And you know what ... the HUGE pile of poop on the back of my shirt doesn't bother me a bit! Geez ... I am so in love!
Oh yeah - and I was the one who ended up putting her back in her cage (She didn't bolt off!) - I need lunch! - and she had been out for about 2 1/2 hours - I knew she needed at least a drink of water and a nibble of food.
