So we went away for a week and came home 2 weeks ago .

This week she has been awful with biting me. Literally taking chunke out of my fingers (thankfully only my fingers )

It feels very much like she's trying to control me . She won't "allow" me to turn lights on/off, touch things she thinks I shouldn't , she even bit me for putting my glasses on (she's fine once they are on, or are already on)

Any suggestions ? I'm not reacting to the bites and putting her in time out consistently but it's starting to really hurt and it's frustrating me .

She's on Tropican pellets and fresh chop with seed as treats and she gets about 10 hours of sleep/dark

SHe is punishing you your absence. Did you do the pre-trip explanation to her? WHen I used to go to China for 2 weeks at a time, and forgot that, Salty would take awhile before I was back in good graces.

You been around this forum long enough to know that properly executed shunning should be done every time a bite occurs. Failure, especially in this case, runs the risk of this new biting behavior to become inset and her literally running the house.

I did talk to her about is going away and the her "grandma" was coming to look after her and that we would be back in 7 days . One thing we didn't do this time was face time her as the internet was shocking .

I think that's what happened when mother in law looked after her , she literally allowed Albie to rule the roost . If she wanted to go to the bath room , my mother in sat with her in the bathroom, she wanted to play on top of the kitchen cupboards ? Yep she would stand in the kitchen to let Albie do just that for as long as Albie wanted.

These are the worst bites she's given me ever . Thankfully,as they are on my fingers they don't actually hurt thanks to my job so I'm able to not react with ease .

Urgh , she's lucky she's so cute !

Call me crazy but I swear when Ona gets this mad at me the only thing that works is literally apologizing to her. I hold her, look her in the eyes, and tell her I am so so sorry several times and ask if she might forgive me. Works every time! :D

I will say though - Ona in general does the same about not liking me touching things. It's just something she has always done with certain things.
