Just picked up Ozzy from the boarders and got nicely attacked as a welcome home present. (I probably deserve it since I left him for a week)

Anyways, he has always had a black beak and today when I picked him up I noticed that a spot about the size of a pencil eraser is now bone colored. Any idea whats going on? He is currently in like week three of a molt and pin feathers are finally coming out all over so I dont know if this has anything to do with it...

thanks :)

If you could get a pic that would be awesome but my guess is that it is simply sloughing ( sorry if I got that word wrong lol ). Where the beak natural sheds

Basicually a birds beak is like our hair and finger nails
it grows and becomes brittle and flakes off

Nothing to worry about I'm sure but as I say a pic is a good idea Just incase I'm wrong
